I was very skinny growing up. When my mom signed me up for personal training at the age of 12, I did not understand why. I thought that since I wasn’t fat, I was healthy. I remember doing incline pushups on the bar, because I struggled with doing a real pushup. After a few sessions, I still didn’t have a true understand why weight training and exercise were important.

When I was a freshman in high school I weighed about 135lbs at 5’11. I could barely bench the bar on the flat barbell bench press. From my sophomore to senior year of high school, I attended group workouts at a local gym with my high school/ travel baseball team. The coaches at the gym pushed me to reach new personal bests and gave me more confidence. I was able to but on muscle and size by the time I graduated and weighted 165lbs at 5’11.

I used this momentum going in to my freshman year of college. I went to the gym 4-6x week and soon became a routine.

To this day, I still go to the gym at least 6 times a week and still making progress.
